Your favorite tax lawyer is getting older and so are his clients. Last week a client provided me with the documents for him to file his income tax. I noticed that he and his wife would turn 65 this year. Told him the good news that following the month they would reach that age that no more old age pensions would be deducted from his and the he and the misses would be receiving old age pension from then one. Strangely enough these were born in the same month and as he told me were delivered in the same hospital. My follow-up question if they were dating as infants was strongly denied.
The thing is however that one needs to apply for old age pension 6 months before reaching that age. If you do not your pension would be paid much and much later. Be aware of that please!
